Following a storied career as an NFL Sports Agent, Spiro Pettas joins the Canning Properties Group combining his lifelong knowledge of the area with his experience negotiating complex deals on behalf of his clients. Born and raised in Skyline Forest to a deeply rooted Monterey family, Spiro’s grandmother worked in the canneries while his grandfather, a carpenter, built custom homes all over the Peninsula. Like many who grow up here, Spiro spent much of his childhood playing outdoors; enjoying all that Monterey and the surrounding communities have to offer. It was during these formative years that his appreciation for the uniqueness of the homes on the Peninsula and the charm of each neighborhood began to develop. Garnering an emotional connection to the area that many who grow up here have, Spiro always had aspirations of venturing off and returning home to leave his own mark on Monterey.
A Cal Poly graduate, Spiro built his professional career at Athletes First – a Premier Sports Agency where he represented countless NFL players and their families.
It was at Athletes First that he honed his skills representing clients at the highest level – with expectations great and little room for error. After securing a number of unexpected deals for clients, he quickly gained a reputation for exceeding expectations and providing a client experience that was unparalleled in the industry. Over the years, Spiro has negotiated hundreds of intricate deals, representing NFL players whose contracts cumulatively totaled in the billons. Collectively, they were some of the most well respected and highest paid players in the NFL. Players such as Clay Matthews, Miles Austin, Dan Orlovsky, Aaron Rodgers and Reggie Wayne just to name a few. Spiro also played an integral role in numerous NFL draft classes – working alongside 90+ drafted players, including 17 first round draft picks.
A marketing trailblazer, Spiro has collaborated with such brands as Louis Vuitton, Coke, Nike, Travis Mathew and Dash Radio along with many other best in class brands. Ultimately, he is most proud of his charity work, having been involved in such charities as Tony Hawk’s Stand Up For Skate Parks, the Athletes First Classic and the Orangewood Foundation. Spiro firmly believes that the impact we have on the lives of others far outweighs any individual achievements and has been instrumental in advising clients to start their own charities – utilizing their platforms to give back.

In his spare time, Spiro fancies himself as an amateur chef and enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family. Spiro can often be found at a local ballpark watching his niece’s and nephews’ games or perusing local farmers markets in pursuit of perfectly ripened fruits and vegetables.
