Carmel Point is a neighborhood area in Carmel covering south of Santa Lucia from Scenic to Mission Ranch. It is an unincorporated area of Monterey County, which provides most primary services including law enforcement, street repairs and public transit. Except for a few lodging/dining establishments, Carmel Point could be considered a bedroom community to Carmel-by-the-Sea and the greater Monterey Peninsula.
 
One of the earliest dairies in California was built near the Mission on what is now known as Carmel Point. It was also the site of the one of the first ocean front golf courses in the Carmel, Pebble area.
 
Ocean views are primarily from Scenic or Bay View/Ocean View, with some very nice valley views to the East.
 
Walking distance to two beaches – River Beach and Carmel Beach – both are dog-friendly with River Beach requiring a leash while Carmel Beach allows dogs off-leash that are on voice command.
